Carvajal, a 2012 graduate of Temple High School in Temple ISD, is using her $3,000 TCTA scholarship to continue her studies at Temple College, where she is participating in the Diagnostic Medical Sonography program. Her TCTA scholarship was renewed for the second time for 2014-15.

She says her ultimate goal is to open her own high-tech clinic, but she would also like to help her mother open her own spa. "I am extremely grateful for this award; without it, I don't think that I would have been able to achieve my educational goal of graduating with my Associate of Arts degree with a 4.0 GPA," she wrote in her renewal application.

“I have worked with many students during the past 18 years, but Rosiagni Carvajal is definitely one that I will never forget,” wrote Patricia White, the Temple ISD guidance counselor who nominated Carvajal for the scholarship. “She has overcome many monetary and family issues to get to where she is today.”
